Over 1,200 Stand Up for Democracy at No Kings Day Rally
On June 14th, 2025, over 1,200 community members gathered in downtown Youngstown for our No Kings Day Rally to send a clear message: We reject the slide toward authoritarianism, and we will defend our democracy, together.
Despite the heat, families, students, elders, workers, and neighbors came out, holding signs that read “No Kings,” “Defend Democracy,” and “Power to the People.” We rallied in unity against the current administration’s aggressive reach toward authoritarian rule, voter suppression efforts, attacks on bodily autonomy, and corporate corruption that is leaving working people behind.
Speakers from across the Mahoning Valley lifted up stories of struggle and resilience, reminding us why we fight for fair wages, healthcare, public education, reproductive freedom, and the right to vote without fear. Local musicians and poets inspired the crowd, while volunteers distributed water and provided safety and de-escalation support throughout the day.
Together, we marched through the streets, reclaiming space and reminding our leaders that power belongs to the people, not to politicians who seek to strip away our rights.
We are grateful to every volunteer, speaker, artist, and participant who made this day possible. Your voices, your presence, and your courage show that the Mahoning Valley is awake, aware, and ready to protect our community from authoritarian overreach.
This is just the beginning. We are building a movement rooted in community care, direct action, and relentless hope. We will continue to organize, educate, and resist, making it clear that no matter how hard they try, we will not be silenced.
If you missed the rally but want to get involved, sign up to join our Signal organizing chats, volunteer for upcoming actions, or donate to help us continue this work.
Thank you to everyone who showed up. Together, we stand stronger. Together, we will win.
