Zine Dream Machine: A DIY Workshop for Creative Rebels

Step into a world where scissors, glue sticks, and wild ideas reign supreme! Our Zine Making Workshop is your backstage pass to self-expression, storytelling, and unapologetic creativity. Whether you're a seasoned collage wizard or just curious about what a zine even is, this hands-on session will guide you through the art of making your own mini-publication from scratch.

Every Sunday at 5:00 PM at the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office, we gather as a community to demand that ICE be kicked out of the Mahoning Valley. These weekly actions are a call for justice, dignity, and safety for all of our neighbors—immigrant and non-immigrant alike. Together, we stand against collaboration with ICE and the harm it causes to our families, our community, and our future.

This Women’s Equality Day, join the Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters at the Mahoning County Courthouse as we rally for justice, equity, and the continued fight for gender equality. From the right to vote to the right to our bodily autonomy, we honor the struggles that paved the way and demand action for the battles we’re still fighting.

The evening will feature inspiring speakers, music, games and resources to help you get involved in the movement for women’s rights and equality. All are welcome to stand with us in solidarity as we demand real change.

Join us for an afternoon of food, connection, and community-powered resistance as we come together in support of the “Boycott America” Nationwide Strike — a day of no work, no school, and no spending.

Join the Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters, at the Mahoning County Courthouse for the “Dare to Fight Fascism” protest, an educational community event dedicated to understanding and combating fascism in all its forms. From 6:00-9:00PM, we’ll come together as a community to learn about the history, signs, and impacts of fascism, and most importantly, how we can take action as a community to resist it.

Our focus will be on education, featuring speakers and educators who will provide insights into what fascism looks like today and equip us with the knowledge and tools to counteract it.

Join us at the Rise Up for Reproductive Rights Rally on July 26th, 2025. The Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters will gather outside Planned Parenthood at 3:00pm, as we come together as a community to stand in defense of reproductive freedoms.

We will peacefully rally in support of the right to choose and access essential healthcare. This event is part of our ongoing commitment to fighting for social justice, equality, and bodily autonomy.

Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.

On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.

On Tuesday, July 15th, from 4:30-6:30 PM. The Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters will Rally for Residents, outside of the International Towers to host a Fan Donation drive for local residents. We will collect fans and AC units to help those who are in need of cooling throughout these heat waves. If you are in need of a fan or are willing to donate, please let us know. Join us on the evening of Saturday, July 12th for Candles For Democracy, a powerful candlelight vigil to honor the spirit of democracy, unity, and the power of the people. As our rights, freedoms, and futures face unprecedented threats, we gather together in peaceful reflection and unwavering resolve.

This vigil is a space for the community to stand shoulder to shoulder—lighting candles, raising voices, and reclaiming the values of justice, independence, and representation. We will hear from speakers, share a moment of silence, and close the evening with music and community connection.

In America, the government doesn’t get to grab people off the streets, skip the courtroom, and send them straight to a foreign prison. Disappeared in America is a National Day of Action to stand up for the rule of law and confront the Trump administration’s illegal abductions, detentions, and deportations of people like Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Rui Marras, and Juan Maldonado Zuniga. 

On Thursday, June 26th, we’re showing up at courthouses and town squares across the country to say: in America, we don’t let the government disappear people. That’s not who we are.

For too long, the corrupt Ohio GOP has ruled unchecked — now, they’re pushing even further, trying to eliminate the Ohio Election Commission, silence our voices, and erase the systems meant to keep them accountable.

We envision a future where healthcare is a right, not a privilege; where public education is for everyone; where billionaires don’t get to rewrite the rules to favor themselves and enslave the workers.

This is more than a protest – this is a movement to reclaim our power, restore our rights, and fight for a future where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
