Description

Join us July 13, 2025. From 12pm-3pm to christen the final section of Tony Armeni’s monumental sculpture project outside Westside Bowl: the three bike racks!

Please, if you can, bring a new or gently used adult bike to donate to Valley immigrants in need of reliable transportation, part of Thrive Mahoning Valley’s Pedal Forward Program! The backlist of requests is more than 50 people - friends of Westside Bowl, let's do this! Can we get 50 bikes in a day?

We'll have a fun day of celebrating Tony Armeni's sculpture, listening to all the best songs about biking, enjoying free pizza and soft drinks and learning more about how to support newcomers to our community!

About Pedal Forward

Thrive Mahoning Valley is accepting donations of gently used or new adult bicycles, new bicycle parts, and new helmets/locks to provide to international students and other newcomer adults with short distance transportation needs in Youngstown. On July 13 we will be collecting bikes (and other gear) for this project.

You may send Thrive an email at info@thrivemv.org to schedule a pickup or to tell us about a newcomer in need. Bikes and equipment donations may be dropped off during regular business hours at 854 Wilson Ave in Youngstown.

To apply for a bike: email at info@thrivemv.org

Please note that bikes are available based on supply and availability of volunteers who pick up, drop off, and repair bikes at any given time. For this reason, Thrive Mahoning Valley cannot guarantee a bike or when one will be available. Please also note that a liability release must be signed for a bicycle to be released. We also ask for any bikes that become unused or unwanted be donate back to the program.
