Take Action for Our Community

Change doesn’t happen on its own. It happens when ordinary people decide to step up together.

The Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters are building a grassroots movement to defend democracy, protect human rights, and support our community through organizing, mutual aid, and civic engagement.

If you’re ready to get involved, the best first step is a quick 1-on-1 conversation with one of our organizers.

Why schedule a volunteer meeting?

Our 1-on-1 conversations help us:

• Learn what issues matter most to you
• Find the best way for you to plug into the movement
• Share current campaigns and opportunities
• Connect you with the right teams and projects
• Answer any questions you have about the organization

This is a relaxed conversation — not an interview. We just want to get to know you and help you find your place in the work.

Ways You Can Get Involved

You can support the movement in many ways:

Community Organizing

  • Help plan protest, rallies, community gatherings, town halls, and workshops

Mutual Aid

  • Support our Freedom Fighter Family Pantries and donation drives

Community Outreach

  • Talk with neighbors, pass out flyers , gather petitions, phone banking, and connect people to resources

Communications

  • Help with digital design, social media, messaging, and storytelling

Leadership

  • Step up as a project lead or help lead organizing teams

No prior experience is required — just a willingness to show up and take action.

What to Expect

Your 1-on-1 volunteer meeting will take about 45–60 minutes and can be done virtually or in-person.

During the conversation we will:

  1. Introduce ourselves and the work we’re doing

  2. Learn about your interests and concerns

  3. Share ways you can get involved right now

  4. Help you take your next step in the movement

Ready to Get Involved?

Our community needs people who are ready to stand up and take action.

Schedule your Volunteer 1-on-1 and join the movement.

Real change happens when communities organize together.

We’re glad you’re here.
