Political Resistance Art Auction & Craft Show
Art as Resistance: Building Community Through Creativity and Care
On November 15 2025, Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters hosted a Political Resistance Art Auction & Craft Show paired with a Food Donation Drive, and the result was exactly what we believe in: community power in action.
The event brought together local artists, small businesses, grassroots organizations, and community members under one roof — not just to showcase creativity, but to turn art into tangible care for our neighbors.
Centering Local Voices and Creative Resistance
The art auction and craft show featured work from local artists whose creations spoke to resistance, resilience, justice, and hope. By amplifying their work, we were able to uplift artists whose voices and visions are often overlooked, while ensuring they were directly supported for their labor and creativity.
Alongside the art, we highlighted the work of local organizations and small businesses, creating space for connection, collaboration, and mutual support. This wasn’t just an event — it was a reminder that our movements are strongest when we invest in each other.
Turning Art Into Direct Impact
Community care was at the heart of this event. Through the food and supply donation drive, we collected over 160 essential items, including food and basic necessities. These donations were distributed to Thrive Mahoning Valley and Full Spectrum Outreach, organizations doing critical work to support people in our region.
Every donated item represented someone choosing solidarity over apathy, action over silence.
Why This Matters
Political resistance doesn’t only happen in meeting rooms or at rallies — it also happens through art, care, and collective action. When we create spaces that honor creativity while meeting real needs, we build the kind of community resilience that lasts.
This event showed what’s possible when we:
Support local artists
Amplify grassroots organizations
Care for our neighbors
Build power together
Gratitude and Moving Forward
We are deeply grateful to every artist, organizer, volunteer, donor, and attendee who made this event possible.
Your participation helped turn creativity into care and resistance into real-world support.
This is the work. And we’re just getting started.
