Statement on Venezuela
December 3, 2025
The Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters strongly condemn the recent actions of the United States government and the United States Navy in and around Venezuela. The reported attacks on civilian boats in the region are unacceptable and, in our view, constitute violations of international law.
Our position is based on the following:
The boats that have been targeted are not capable of reaching the United States, regardless of their cargo.
Venezuela is not a source of fentanyl production or importation. Research consistently shows that approximately 96% of fentanyl entering the United States comes through Mexico.
The majority of drug smuggling attempts into the United States occur through shipped packages, not small vessels at sea.
We believe the actions ordered by Secretary Hegseth raise serious legal and ethical concerns. In our view, these actions violate international law and warrant investigation and accountability, including removal from office and appropriate legal review by international authorities.
The U.S. Constitution grants only Congress the authority to declare war. The United States is not at war with Venezuela, making the use of military force particularly alarming and improper.
We can only conclude that these illegitimate actions by the Trump Administration appear aimed at intimidating Venezuela, a nation that holds roughly 17% of the world’s oil reserves. We further believe these actions serve as a distraction from critical domestic issues currently obscured from public attention, including the true state of the U.S. economy, the ongoing situation surrounding the Epstein files, and disturbing reports of ICE wrongfully detaining U.S. citizens within American cities.
As an organization, the Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters remain committed to defending democracy, upholding the rule of law, and standing firmly against all illegal or unjust exercises of government power. We reject these actions and call for transparency, accountability, and adherence to both U.S. and international law.
